Throughout the pandemic, frontline healthcare workers have run toward danger to save lives – working long hours, often without proper protective equipment, without enough staff – risking everything while everyone else stayed home, including millionaire hospital executives who are paid more than $1,000/hour.

The Los Angeles City Council and Mayor passed the Healthcare Worker Minimum Wage law to recognize the sacrifices and incredible service of our city’s healthcare workers. Now, the same hospital executives who used to praise healthcare workers as “heroes” want to cut caregivers’ wages, a slap in the face which will push even more workers to leave healthcare to make ends meet.
